+ Tell us a little bit about yourself...
My name is Kelcie Carson and I am a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and front desk attendant at Fitness One. I was involved with athletics starting at an early age so I’ve always love sports and competition. Exercise science was an interesting topic when I got to college so I got a degree in Kinesiology. I worked with young athletes as a volleyball coach after graduating and I really loved that. Since then, I’ve been working at Fitness One trying to take on as many rolls as I can. Future plans include getting a second bachelors degree in nursing so I can further my skill set and broaden my horizons.
I live for anything that spikes my adrenaline levels and I love being as active as possible. You can catch me out in the mountains, on the volleyball court, or at Fitness One if you have any questions.
+ What made you want to become a trainer and what do you enjoy most about it?
I wanted to become a trainer so that I could aid people in accomplishing their fitness goals. Our country has finally taken the initiative to promote physical fitness and good nutrition in order to avoid chronic diseases. I hope to educate those people who desire help with modifying their lifestyle with factual information so they do it the right way.
The process of putting in hard work that leads to clientele progress is what I enjoy the most. When you can see confidence levels start to elevate in someone, it’s such a satisfying part of my job. If I can aid them in feeling and looking better, my job is done.
+ What should members expect when working with you?
Members shall expect a workout experience that tailors specifically to their needs. Whether that is to accomplish a fitness goal, addressing a problematic joint issue, or to learn about kinesthetic awareness. They shall expect to work hard, learn about their body, break a sweat, and maybe get some laughs in.
Favorite workout: Back squats due to the level of multijoint usage.
Favorite quote: Embrace the suck!
Favorite meal: Smothered green chile burrito with beans and rice.
Go to workout song: Never Give Up, by Sia
